Michael D.J. Cieslak 1922-2011 BRANDON, FL Michael Donald Jerome Cieslak, 89, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died December 3, 2011 in Tampa, Fla., at the Sun City Hospice House. Born in Chicago, Ill., on November 9, 1922. He was 1942 graduate of Campion Jesuit High School, Prairie du Chein, WI. During World War II he served in Alaska with the United State Navy Seabees and was honorably discharged after the war. He attended the University of Georgia on the GI-Bill. Mr. Cieslak was employed by Eaton Paper Company. He began his career as a salesman for the company and moved to Pittsfield, with his family, in 1963. During his tenure as Executive Sales Manager he increased the sales force to nearly 65 salesmen. He returned to selling in Florida with Sheaffer-Eaton and retired from the company in 1986 after 30 years. His first wife, Henriette, who he married on April 10, 1953, died in 1992. He leaves his second wife, the former Oriania Covington, who he married on June 5, 1993. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Vanessa Cieslak of Washington, D.C. and her spouse, and a son, James M. Cieslak and his wife, of Federal Way, Wash. Mike and his second wife moved to Mt. Airy, Ga., in 1997. There he was very active as a volunteer with the local Habersham County Soup Kitchen and Sharing and Caring Place in Clarkesville, GA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Mark Catholic Church. Mike was a gregarious and outgoing guy and often referred to himself as "Lucky Mike." He loved to travel and keeping in touch with his former Eaton Paper salesmen. He was a beloved husband, father and friend and will be missed.
