Michael Peter "Hammer" Krutiak

1951-2012 CHESHIRE Michael Peter "Hammer" Krutiak, 61, of 155 Dean Street, Cheshire, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Adams on August 20, 1951, a son of the late Stanley and Mildred Fulde Krutiak, he was a 1970 graduate of Adams Memorial High School.

He had served in the United States National Guard.

Mr. Krutiak had been employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator of J.H. Maxymillian, Inc., in Pittsfield, for twenty five years retiring in 2009 due to disability.

He was a member of I.U.O.E. Local 98 and a member of the American Legion.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Cheshire Rod and Gun Club and the Mountain Club. He also enjoyed golfing, as well as spending time with his friends.

Mr. Krutiak leaves his wife, the former Donna M. Gregiore, whom he married January 15, 1971, in Adams.

He is also survived by three sons, Michael P. Krutiak and his wife, Kim, of Pittsfield, Josh T. Krutiak of Harwich, and Ted S. Krutiak of Adams; three brothers, David Krutiak and his wife, Karen, of Adams, John Krutiak and his wife, Janet, of Hinsdale, and Peter Krutiak of Cheshire; three sisters, Jean Raymond and her husband, Charles, of New York state, Maryann Ogden and her husband, William, of Cheshire, and Linda Krutiak of Marblehead; and three grandchildren, Michael J. Krutiak, Emma Jai Krutiak, and Mason Streeter.

He was predeceased by two sons, Jay Krutiak and Richard Krutiak.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of the life of Michael P. "Hammer" Krutiak will be held at a date to be announced. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Krutiak may be made to the Massachusetts Wildlife Preserve in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire, MA 01225.
