1933 - 2015 ADAMS Mr. Michael G. "Sonny" Puppolo, 81, of 85 East Hoosac St. died Monday morning, July 20, 2015, at Williamstown Commons. He was born in Adams on October 29, 1933, a son of the late Frank Puppolo and Alice (Caron) Puppolo Green. He attended schools in North Adams and Adams. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the US Navy aboard the USS Columbus, until his Honorable Discharge in 1954. Mr. Puppolo last worked as an engineer for Boston & Maine Railroad and Guilford Transportation, until retiring. Earlier, he had operated the former Puppolo Appliance store on State St. in North Adams for many years. He had been a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was a member of Adams Post 160 American Legion; the Adams Lodge of Elks; the Sons of Italy and the Polish National Alliance. He had also served with the Massachusetts National Guard for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events. He had also coached the Adams Golden Jets youth football team for 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Elaine D. Wnuk, whom he married on June 18, 1955; three sons, Rod Puppolo and his wife, Lisa, of Adams; Perry Puppolo and his wife, Erin, of Lincoln University, PA; and Gary Puppolo and his wife, Lisa, of Adams; seven grandchildren, Abby, Kasey, Michael, Ryan, Fallon, Kali and Madison; a half-sister, Patricia Palmer of Savoy; two cousins, John Michael Puppolo of NY, and David Puppolo of New Hampshire, as well as several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 23rd, at 10 am. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Deacon Gregory LaFreniere, of the Parish of St. John Paul II will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
