Michael Keith Signor

1938 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Michael Keith Signor, 76, of 155 Montgomery Avenue Ext., died Thursday, Dec. 18, at his home, surrounded by family, friends, and caregivers. Born in Pittsfield on June 20, 1938, the son of Keith and Eleanor Tucker Signor, was educated in local schools. Mr. Signor enlisted with the United States Air Force on Dec. 11, 1957, at Plattsburgh, N.Y., was stationed in Alaska and Iceland, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 10, 1963, in California, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Signor was employed by General Electric Company where he was a machinist for twenty-five years. Prior to G.E., he had worked at Woolworth's. He enjoyed flying model airplanes, building cars, and hunting, as well as attending his grandsons' basketball games and his granddaughters' beauty pageants, and traveling to Florida, Hawaii, Aruba, and Cape Cod. Mr. Signor leaves his wife, the former Marjorie Barnes, whom he married June 23, 1956. He is also survived by four sons, Robert K. Signor and his girlfriend, Denise Canfield, Keith W. Signor, Timothy A. Signor, and Steven S. Signor, Sr., all of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, Steven, Brian, Shane, Jamie, and Cheyenne; four great grandchildren, Lillyanna, Kaydem, Isabella, and Aiden; as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, Michael James Signor, who died June 11, 2005. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Michael K. Signor will be held Monday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Rennie officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4 - 7 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Services of Western Massachusetts in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
