1952 - 2013 PITTSFIELD Michael Phillip Wilkinson, 61, of Wilder, Vt., passed away Aug. 10, 2013, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital after a long battle with kidney disease and diabetes.

The son of George and Ann Wilkinson, Michael was born in Pittsfield on Valentine's Day, 1952. He graduated from Taconic High School in 1971 and then attended classes, and instructed, at Berkshire Community College in the following years.

Michael then had a long and successful career in the world of plastics engineering including 23 years at GW Plastics in Bethel, Vt., before retiring in 2011.

The newlyweds moved to Boulder, Colo., where they had their first son, William, in June of 1983. Following a move back to Pittsfield, they welcomed a second son, Michael, in October of 1985. The family then settled in Wilder, Vt., in 1988.

He was a diehard fan of the New England Patriots and loved to watch the Boston Red Sox with his wife, Linda, before going to bed each night. He cherished weekends playing golf with his son, William. He also took immense pride in passing down the carpentry and handyman skills learned from his own father to his younger son, Michael.
