Murray Ivan Flashner

1950-2012 Murray I. Flashner was born in Beverly, Mass. on August 26, 1950. He was the first child born to George and Marjorie Flashner of Beverly. From birth to age five they resided in Beverly. In April 1955 George was hired by G.E. in Syracuse, N.Y. and family lived there for seven years. Murray attended dance groups, art classes and many other activities. In 1962 the family was transferred to G.E. in Huntsville, Alabama to the Space Program. Murray graduated from Huntsville High School and went on to the University of Alabama. Two years later he joined the U.S. Air Force. Upon discharge from the Air Force he joined a friend in Heinz Co. the frozen TV dinner department. He worked as a manager for many years until his illness set in. Heart surgery was performed ion Dec. 20, 2012 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The surgery was successful but complications occured and he passed away.

In addition to his parents George and Marjorie Flashner of Lenox, Murray is survived by his brother, Perry. Also survived by an aunt and uncle, Frances and Jordan Baker of Beverly, aunt Elaine Flashner of Randoph, and aunt Mildred Ragosin of Edmonton Alberta, Canada and many first cousins. All his first cousins from all over the country attended his funeral at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Peabody, Mass. on Dec. 27, 2012. Donations in Murray's memory may be made to a .
