1952-2012 BECKET Nancy Ann (Vieau) Devane, 59, of Winter Drive in Becket, passed away at home on November 24th, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born on December 1, 1952 in Tupperlake, N.Y., the daughter of Lawrence E. and Annabelle Laflamme Vieau.
She was raised in Holyoke and later lived in Chicopee. After high school she went to Springfield Technical Community College, graduating with a degree in human services.
Nancy worked forVanguard, Inc. in Chicopee, Mass., as Program Coordinator of Development Services for mentally delayed adults, with over twenty years service. She was medically retired in 1998 and moved to Becket with her husband David.
She was an active member of Pioneer Valley Assembly of God and volunteered for Relay for Life and the Berkshire MS chapter of the MS society. She was an avid gardener and crafter, who adored the ocean and going to her favorite beach in Hammonassett, CT with her family.
Nancy survivors include her husband, David Devane, whom she married on September 13, 1997; two sons, Ronald Van Buren and his wife Kimberly of Becket and Scott Van Buren and his wife Becky of Chicopee, MA; one step-son, Richard Devane of Kingston, Mass., and one step-daughter, Danielle Devane of North Hollywood, Calif.; a brother, William "Cookie" Vieau and his wife Marie "Tina" of Westfield, Mass.; four grandchildren, Cameron, Grace, Makayla and Aiden Van Buren; three step-grandchildren Morgan, Jordan and Ledger Devane and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Lawrence "Pete" Vieau and two sisters, Patricia Vieau and Karen Vieau Charko.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial mass for Nancy Ann Devane will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 1 p.m. at the Pioneer Valley Assembly of God church, 63 Old Chester Road Huntington, MA with the Pastor, Toby Quirk officiating. Per Nancy's wishes there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in her memory to the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, 125 South Huntington Avenue, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
