1932 - 2016 Nancy Carolyn (Quinn) English, 83 of North Adams, MA died Sunday September 4, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center-North Adams. She was born in North Adams, MA on December 13, 1932, daughter of John "Leo" and Mary C. (Fanny) Quinn. She attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1952. She then attended Henry W. Bishop School of Nursing in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Ward Airline School in Worcester as well as a graduate of the School of Business, Speech and Practice in New York, NY. Mrs. English was last employed by the Town of Adams Welfare Office. Prior to that, she worked at ASCAP and then Robbins Music Publishing, copywriting songs in New York City for Columbia Pictures. She returned to North Adams and operated English Country Gardens Flower Shop. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Nancy was active in her high school class reunion committee and a volunteer with the VA. She was the widow of Thomas E. English who died October 26, 1996. They were married in November, 1955. Survivors include her daughter, Terri English-Murach of North Adams and two sons, Darrell English and his wife, Mary of North Adams and Col. Lance English (US Army Ret.) and his wife, Maureen of Frederick, MD as well as seven grandchildren, Tabatha, Travis, Nicholas, Caitlyn, Shannon, Sean and Ryan. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Nancy English will be celebrated Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, MA.
