Noreen M. Kelly Doner

1928-2013 Mrs. Noreen M. Kelly Doner, age 84, of 193 Elberon Ave., Apt. 16 Pittsfield, died Tuesday morning at the Craneville Place in Dalton after a long illness. She was born in Pittsfield, Dec. 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Thomas and Nora Hanley Kelly. She attended the local schools and was 1947 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She began her working career at the former J.J. Newbury Store on North where she worked for 12 years, She later became employed at the former Shaeffer-Eaton Paper Co. for 23 years, prior to her employment with Crane & Co., retiring after 3 years of service there. A communicant of St. Mark's Church, she was a member of the Pittsfield Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. An avid reader, she enjoyed doing ceramics and various kinds of puzzles. Her husband, Robert B. Doner, whom she married on Sept. 7, 1953, died Dec. 23, 1988. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Christine M. Flaherty and her husband, Stephen Flaherty, of Pittsfield and Mrs. Kathleen A. Main and her husband, Peter J. Main of Pittsfield, her sister, Mrs. Ann Kelly Watroba of Pittsfield, her two granddaughters, Kelly Flaherty and Heather Carrigan, two great-granddaughters, Jayla and Amiya Johnson and her daughter-in-law, Susan Carrigan Doner of Pittsfield, Her son, Thomas L. Doner, died June 26, 2004. FUNERAL NOTICE: Doner, Noreen M., age 84, of Pittsfield, died Dec. 10th. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10:00 at St. Mark's Church with the Rev. John R. Salatino, pastor, officiating. The Family will receive friends Friday morning beginning at 9:00 am at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Shriner Hospital for Children in care of the funeral home.
