Norma R. Cardillo

1933-2013 STOCKBRIDGE Mrs. Norma R. Cardillo, 80, of East Street, died at her home Monday, October 21, 2013 surrounded by family. She was born in West Stockbridge on February 24, 1933, the daughter of Albert and Angela Pellizzari Sinico. Norma graduated from Williams High School in 1950 and after graduation was a secretary at Williams High School/ Stockbridge Plain School and General Electric Corporation. She then had her most rewarding job as a stay at home mother. Later she was employed at the Spudnut Donut Shop in Lee, and for the past 37 years has been employed at Catherine's Chocolate Shop in Great Barrington. She was an avid gardener, both vegetable and flower, and a fantastic cook. She and her husband, Ernest J. Cardillo, Sr. were married on June 12, 1954 and celebrated close to 50 years of marriage until his death on May 1, 2004. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and wonderful sister. She loved and cared for everyone who came into her life, but her children, grandchildren and siblings were her life. Norma leaves a legacy of inner strength, faith, caring and love taught by her actions that will be passed down for generations to come. Norma leaves two daughters, Debra Caffrey and her husband, Robert, of Great Barrington, and Linda Consolini and her husband, Lawrence, of Lenox; four sons, Dominic and his wife, Karen, Vincent and his wife, Linda, Ernest "Chuck" and his wife, Eileen, of Stockbridge, and Mark and his wife, Julie, of Great Barrington; as well as 15 grandchildren, Jennifer, Angela, Michelle Caffrey, Christina Tafe, Heather Penney, Kristen Consolini, Richard, Brian, Dana, Christopher, Alanna, Katie, Margaret, Shane and Steven Cardillo; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Liam. She is also survived by four sisters, Anne Broggi, Margaret Derrick, Mary Obanhein, Patricia Salvadore; and four brothers, Albert, Joseph, William and Robert Sinico; and many much loved in-laws. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph, and a sister, Linda. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Norma Cardillo will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge with Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church, Pittsfield, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Stockbridge. Visiting hours will be Thursday, October 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238.
