Norman W. Edgerton

1946 - 2016 Norman William Edgerton, 69, of Lincoln, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. He was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on October 26, 1946, the son of the late Mary (Lynch) Edgerton and the late Francis Powers Edgerton. He is survived by his beloved wife Bryn Walsh. They have resided in Lincoln for the past eighteen years. Beside his wife, he leaves two brothers Michael F. Edgerton of Middleton, Massachusetts and his wife Ann Edgerton and Gary R. Edgerton of Indianapolis, Indiana and his wife Nan Edgerton. He is also survived by four nieces, Laura, Shannon, Katherine and Mary Ellen Edgerton. Mr. Edgerton graduated from St. Joseph's High School in North Adams, from the College of the Holy Cross and was the recipient of a Masters Degree in Psychology from Suffolk University. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He practiced in both the public and private sectors during a long and distinguished career as a psychologist serving clients at Waltham Hospital and the Department of Mental Health in Lowell. Mr. Edgerton had a natural affinity for communicating with people and spent many hours each week counseling patients in hospice facilities after his retirement. He was a communicant of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish in Waltham. He enjoyed people and traveling with his wife Bryn to numerous countries throughout the world. FUNERAL NOTICE: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a celebration of his life at a funeral Mass at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham, Massachusetts 02452 at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 8, 2016. Burial will take place in the family plot in North Adams at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Dee Funeral Home of Concord.
