Norman A. Stokes
1941-2013 PITTSFIELD Norman Allen Stokes, 71, of 49 Gordon Street, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center, following a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on August 11, 1941, the son of Norman and Eleanor Ano Stokes, he was a 1959 graduate of the Pittsfield High School Vocational School.
He served with the Navy from 1959 to 1963.
Mr. Stokes worked for General Electric Company for more than 20 years. He was then employed as a Truck Driver for J.B. Paper Company for 10 years retiring when the business closed.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Stokes is survived by a daughter, Sheri Marie Sweetster of Dalton; two sons, Marshall Stokes and Norman Stokes, both of Oregon; a brother, George C. Stokes of Lanesborough; and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: There are no calling hours or services planned for Mr. Stokes. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to S.I.O.G.A. in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
