1937 - 2014 NORTH ADAMS Mr. Norman Joseph Thomas, 77 of 288 Houghton St., died Wednesday Aug. 27, at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. on Apr. 22, 1937, son of Edward Thomas and Rose (Gelinas) Thomas Walczak. He attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School. He served in the US Air Force. Norman was last employed as a carpenter, working for many local contractors. Before that, he worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. He was a communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his wife, the former Rose Marie Sullivan whom he married on July 13, 1963. He also leaves three sisters including Dorothy Pennock and Margaret Kryston, of North Adams, and Laura Comeau; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ida and Lorraine. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be at a later date in Clarksburg Cemetery.
