Patricia Crawford Obituary
Patricia Ann White Crawford

1935 - 2015 RICHMOND Patricia Ann White Crawford, 79, of 99 Church Lane, died Monday, May 25, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on July 23, 1935 in Pittsfield, the daughter of the late Harry and Celia Cregan White. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph's Central High School and a graduate of Dorr Beauty Academy in Springfield. She was the wife of George B. Crawford, whom she married Aug. 3, 1955 at St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield; he died January 4, 2010. A professional hairdresser, Mrs. Crawford began her career at the Wendell Beauty Salon; she also worked at the former England Brothers Hair Salon. Later she owned and operated, 'The Country Curl Beauty Salon', in Richmond, for over 35 years. Within the Richmond community, she was a volunteer for the Richmond Community Health Association, and she had been a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. An avid golf enthusiast, Pat enjoyed golfing with her "Dinner Club" friends whom she had known since grade school. As a group, they enjoyed many fun adventures at the Blue Rock Resort at Cape Cod. Pat loved working in her garden and planting flowers; on a sunny day she could always be found outside doing yard work with her mother Ceil. Family was Pat's priority. Once her granddaughters were born, retirement soon followed. She delighted in teaching Aileen, Heather and Katherine about gardening and crafts. Pat created many matching dresses and Halloween costumes for "the girls." The grand-daughters and friends spent numerous summers camping, "down by the pond," with "Nana Pat." She is survived by her daughters, Sandra L. Rowlett and her husband, Mr. Kim Rowlett, of Simi Valley, Calif., and Pamela R. Burno and her husband, Matthew, of Pittsfield; a sister, Shirley Sokolowski of Pittsfield; three grand-daughters, Aileen and Heather Burno, and Katherine Crawford. She was predeceased by her son, Scott W. Crawford in 2000; and by her brother, Robert White. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 19, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church 88 South Street, Pittsfield, Mass. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to the Scotty Crawford Memorial Fund in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA. 01201 which is handling arrangements.
