Patricia A. Curran

1929 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Patricia A. Murphy Curran, 85, of Pittsfield, died Friday evening at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 7, 1929, she attended the local schools and was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Pat enjoyed a very long career with Laurin Publishing, retiring as the circulation manager in May of 2013. A communicant of St. Mark's Church, she enjoyed witnessing three World Series Championships as an avid Red Sox fan. She and her family vacationed on Cape Cod, specifically at the Dennis beaches. Most of all, Pat reveled in her role as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her late husband of 48 years, Edward F. Curran, who died Nov. 1, 1997, were married in St. Mark's Church on July 30, 1949. She is survived by her five children, Pamela A. Curran of Pittsfield, Cathleen M Currie and her husband, Alan, of Manchester, Conn., John E. Curran and his wife, Barbara, of Wethersfield, Conn., David F. Curran and his wife, Susan, of Pittsfield, and Nancy C. Perry and her husband, John, of Groton; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Currie and her husband, Michael Jannitto, Melissa Curran and her husband, Andrew Perry, Christopher and Lyndsie Currallo, Geoffrey Currie, Ryan Curran, Kristen Perry, Bryan Currie, Andrea Perry, Allison Curran, Melanie Perry, Erin Curran, and great-grandson, Jack Perry. Pat was lovingly awaiting the impending birth of her newest great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret, and her husband, Joseph Trasatti of Lousiville, Ky., and her brother, Mark Mohan and his wife, Irene, of Tewksbury. She was predeceased by her sister, Katherine Chandler and her brother, James Mohan. FUNERAL NOTICE: Curran, Patricia A. Murphy, age 85, died May 23. Calling hours at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Church with the Rev. David Aufiero, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
