Patricia A. Jakacky

1943 - 2013 PITTSFIELD Patricia A. Evans Jakacky, 69, of 98 Tanner St., died peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia suffered a long illness.

Born in Pittsfield on April 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Katherine Mead Evans, she attended local school in Pittsfield and was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School.

She worked at John Hancock Insurance Company from 1961 -1968. After the birth of her children, she began working in 1975 at Follwell Greenhouses where she worked for the next 35 years. She retired in 2010.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts, reading, puzzles, camping and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a communicant of the former St. Mary of the Morning Star Church. Presently she was a communicant of St. Charles Church.

She leaves her husband, Frank S. Jakacky, Jr., whom she married June 3, 1967, at St. Charles Church; a daughter, Terry Quinto and her husband, John, of Pittsfield; a sister, MaryEllen Evans Duffy and her husband, Patrick of San Diego, Calif.; a brother -in-law, Paul Jakacky and his wife, Colleen, of Pittsfield. She was a beloved grandmother to Kevin, Anna and Adam Quinto. Patricia also leaves several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Mark Francis Jakacky, who died Jan. 29, 1974.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Patricia A. Evans Jakacky died March 16, 2013. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 9 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Calling hours will be at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday March 20, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St. Pittsfield, MA 01201
