Patricia L. Iacuessa Obituary
Patricia Lee Iacuessa passed away on July 7, 2016, in Bradenton, Florida after a series of illnesses. She was 71. Pat was born in Adams, MA on July 25, 1944. She was the daughter of Eleanor Best and John Iacuessa. Pat attended the Adams schools, graduating from Adams Memorial High School in 1962. She was an active classmate participating in twirling, GAA, Pep Club, and was a member of the Pro Merito Society. She had lasting friendships from her high school years. Being adventurous, immediately after graduating from high school Pat moved to Washington DC holding positions with the federal government. She was employed by the Foreign Service as a personal assistant and spent a tour of duty in Israel. While working in Israel she travelled extensively, which was one of the passions in her life. Pat was a stylish woman who was well read and an excellent conversationalist. She loved music and dancing. Even as she grew older she did not lose her adventurous spirit and was the first member of the family to leave the cold of the Northeast to move to sunny Florida. Beaches and swimming were always a draw for her. She was a life-long Democrat, supported feminist causes, and created a women's support group in Bradenton.In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her stepfather, Edward Fortier. She is survived by her brother, Bill Iacuessa and his wife Alice of Wellfleet, MA, and Nancy Segala and her husband John of Venice FL; a stepbrother James Fortier of Dublin, OH; a stepsister Nancy Rueckel of Wilmington, NC; a nephew Michael Iacuessa of San Francisco CA; cousins JoAnn Hauge of Lanesboro, MA, Greg Best of Pittsfield MA, Gary Best of Savoy MA, Debbie Mangini of Raleigh, NC, MaryLou Kleiner of Freemont, NH, and Mabel Sherman of Adams, MA; half sisters, Carole Cash, Gina Ames, Sandy Fox, and a half brother John Iacuessa. A graveside service will be held on August 10 at 11:00 at Bellevue Cemetery in Adams.
