1923 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Mr. Paul Koronchik, 91, of Kellie Dr. died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on April 14, 1923 the son of the late Jacob and Anna Roba Koronchik, he was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Koronchik served in the 34th Infantry Division of the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He was stationed in Italy and was present at the battle of Monte Casino Monastery. He earned two combat badges for his front-line service. He was employed as a lighting arrestor inspector for General Electric and retired in 1985 with forty years of service. Mr. Koronchik enjoyed traveling to Russia and Eastern European countries. He liked to vacation during the winter months in Florida. He was an active member and communicant of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. His sisters, Sophia Koronchik, Mary Romanchak and Nina Volk predeceased him. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mr. Paul Koronchik will be Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, celebrated by the Rev. Barnabas Fravel, pastor. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service on Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Church.
