1926 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Pauline "Polly" Milukas Martin, 88, died Wednesday at Berkshire Place in Pittsfield where she has resided for the past two weeks. Born on Mar. 17, 1926 in Pittsfield, a daughter of the late Ignatz and Dakia Duplak Wowk. She attended schools in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. She had been employed by the General Electric Company for 25 years retiring in 1988 as a winder. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and walking and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox. In her youth she played semi pro baseball for the city of Pittsfield. Her first husband, Michael C. Milukas died Sept. 20, 1972, her second husband, George F. Martin died October 7, 1993. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia A. Lavin of Covington, La., Pamela Rapkowicz and her husband, Stephen of Pittsfield and Carol J. Phillips and her companion, George Mathes of Pittsfield. 10 grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Kristen, Howard, Jeremy, Maggie, Andrew, Julie, Joseph and Josh, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Michael C. Milukas, Jr. on Aug. 11, 2010 and by two brothers, Andrew and Michael Wowk and by five sisters, Olga Allen, Agnes Stroehlin, Dorothy Bunt, Nellie Wowk and Anna Dubiski. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorials in her memory may be made to the Christian Center in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. 01201 which is handling arrangements.
