Peter A. Farron, Jr.

1966 - 2015 GREEN ISLAND, NY Peter Anthony Farron, Jr., 48, died suddenly September 10, 2015. Born in Troy on October 1, 1966, he is the beloved son of Peter A. Farron, Sr., of Neptune, NJ (formerly of Green Island) and Barbara J. Jacobs Farron of Troy. Peter was a graduate of Tamarac High School. He enlisted in the New York Army National Guard and was a member of the 42nd Infantry Division. Peter was a Sergeant First Class and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Bright Star. At the time of his death, Peter had served 28 years. He was a member of the Green Island American Legion Post and Vagabond Social Club. He enjoyed sailing, hunting, and fishing. Peter had a great sense of humor and would be the first person to make a joke, to make you smile and brighten your day. Peter was loved by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he leaves his devoted son, Jacob Alexander Farron, son, of Pamela Farron, both of Pittsfield, his loving sister, Melissa Shomo and her husband, Tony Shomo of Neptune, NJ; and his niece, Rebecca Shomo of Salisbury, NC. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends including, Tim Weisenforth of Green Island and Scott Nolan of Valley Falls. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral services will be Friday at 7:30a.m. at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Avenue, Green Island, NY. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 8p.m. In lieu of flowers and due to cemetery restrictions, contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Peter's name, PO Box 758517, Topeka KS 66675, or to : woundedwarriorproject.org.
