Peter "Rouk" S. Roukas
PITTSFIELD Peter "Rouk" S. Roukas, 61, of Pittsfield, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center.Born in Pittsfield on February 2, 1952, the son of Peter and Blanche "Dolly" Skumin Roukas, he was a 1970 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School where he played football and was on the wrestling team. He went on to Lowell Technological Institute where he graduated in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. While there, he was a member of the Omicron Pi Fraternity and was on the wrestling team. Continuing his education, he earned his masters in business administration from Suffolk University.
A fiscal analyst by profession, Mr. Roukas worked as a consultant for Schaeffer Eaton, Pfizer, Sky Chef, United Technologies, St. Lawrence Cement where he was the Chief Financial Officer, and Crane & Company.
Peter was an avid golfer, a former competitive racquetball player, and was an excellent chef. He loved the Red Sox, the Patriots, the Celtics, and the Bruins. He was also a man who would do anything he could to help his family, friends and his friends' kids.
Peter leaves behind several cousins, many friends and their children, especially Christopher and Steven Shaker, Matthew and Jeffrey Curry, and Robyn Bell Gentile, and Shannon and Lauren Bell. He also leaves Molly, his special canine friend who was his "little girl".
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Peter S. Roukas will be held Friday, June 28, at 11:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with Rev. Jennifer Gregg, Priest Associate of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
