Priscilla M. Sedgwick

1926-2013 Priscilla M. Sedgwick, 87, of Walker Street, died Wednesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield March 18, 1926, the daughter of George F. and Dorothy Wells Maynard, she was a 1944 graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended Emerson College in Boston for two years. Mrs. Sedgwick supervised after school programs at the Lenox Community Center for four years prior to her retirement. She started her career as a secretary, working at GE and later radio station WBRK, both in Pittsfield, and for over twenty years as secretary at the Church on the Hill in Lenox. For much of her life she was a member of the Church on the Hill where she also sang in the Choir. She loved to sing and was also a member of the Sweet Adeline's of Pittsfield and the United Methodist Church of Lenox Choir. She enjoyed visiting with friends and her vacations at Star Island, NH. Her husband, Gilbert H. Sedgwick, whom she married in South Congregational Church October 16, 1954, died September 10, 2012. Mrs. Sedgwick is survived by her two sons; Nathan M. Sedgwick of Lenox and Charles G. Sedgwick and wife Amy of Townsend, TN; granddaughter Nancy M. Klose and husband Brad of Dalton; and one great-grandchild, Adam Jay Klose. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at 2PM at the Lenox Community Center by her son Charles, ordained minister of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. There are no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
