Ramona Sperlonga 1931-2011 Anthony Sperlonga 1930-2011 PITTSFIELD Ramona (Garcia) Sperlonga, 80, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, and Anthony Sperlonga, 81, died Dec. 31, 2011, at Berkshire Medical Center after 61 years of marriage. Both born in Pittsfield, Ramona was the daughter of the late Serafin and Gertrude Garcia and Anthony was the son of Caesar and Jenny Sperlonga. She worked as a self-employed realtor for many years, while Anthony was a boiler mechanic for 44 years for General Electric. Ramona enjoyed playing the organ and was a CCD teacher for Immaculate Conception Church in Lebanon, NY; they both were avid Red Sox fans, and Anthony was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his late brother-in-law Jim Brown. Anthony loved working in his vegetable garden. They are both survived by their loving children, Anthony D. Sperlonga and his wife, Anne, of Pittsfield, Thomas P. Sperlonga and his wife, Rose, of Lee and Susan Borden and her husband, William, of Pittsfield, and their cherished grandchildren, Stacy Sanchez, Kimberly Cancilla, Torey Sperlonga, Jennifer Seminario, Adam Sperlonga, Samantha Sperlonga, Krysty and Jacob; their great-grandchildren, Larissa, Landen, Patrick and Mateo, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ramona is also survived by her brother, Serafin "Rex" Garcia and his wife, Kate, of Dalton and her sister Laura Brown. Ramona was predeceased by her sister, Delores Trazinka. Anthony is also survived by his sister, Peggy Gregory, and her husband, Mike, of Dalton. He was predeceased by his sister Laura Curley and his brother David.
