Rene A. Tetreault

1929 - 2014 ADAMS Rene A. Tetreault, 84, of 5 Frederick Lane, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in Warrensburg, N.Y., while camping. Born in Adams on Oct. 31, 1929, he was the son of Andrew and Armandine Demers Tetreault and attended Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame Elementary School. Rene was a longtime union electrician, retiring in 1992. Rene was an Army Korean War veteran and was a member of the IBEW Electrical Union Local 284 in Pittsfield. He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church. He enjoyed camping and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Huber, whom he married on Feb. 17, 1951; three sons, Daniel Tetreault and his wife, Joann, of North Adams, Michael Tetreault and his wife, Cheryl, of Pownal Vt., Allen Tetreault and his wife, Jane, of Adams; two daughters, Sheryl Sumner of Adams, and Sandra LaBonte and her husband, Daniel of Savoy, 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Maurice Tetreault and Raymond Tetreault, and by a sister, Jeannine Gancarz. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Rene will be Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 9 a.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St .John Paul II Parish, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the in care of the funeral home.
