Richard Tart

1926-2013 LEE Richard Tart, 86, died peacefully with his family surrounding him on Thursday May 2, 2013. He was born in Pittsfield on July 18, 1926 to Raymond C. and Adeline Aubin Tart. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Navy aboard the USS San Diego from 1943 to 1946.

He married his wife of 62 years, Barbara May Dunham, on October 14, 1950.

He leaves his wife Barbara; their children and spouses, Sally Wilcox and Doug, Sue Scarpa and David, Sandy Salice and Jim, Michele Martinez and partner Thomas, Margaret "Peggy" Wheeler and Sam, Mary Whalen and Tim and Richard "Rick" Tart II and partner Melissa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, David, Kelsey and Tanya, Jessica and Nathaniel, Danielle and Ashleigh, Stuart and Emily, Brandon, Samantha, Sarah, and Victoria, Bryce, Jaci and Joey and his great-grandchildren Isabella and Sophia, Madeline, Noah, Devyn and Ryleigh.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Robert Tart.

Dick had a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, Grampy, Pop Pop and The Boy GG. He was an avid frog collector and was best known as the "Frog man" for many years at the post office where he worked for 28 years, retiring in 1993. He will be missed by all!

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Dick Tart will be on Tuesday, May 7 at 9:15 a.m. from the KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in his memory to Hospice Care of the Berkshires or St. Mary's School in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238.
