1928 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Rita M. Minafra, 87 of 329 Pittsfield Road, Lenox and formerly of 96 Broadview Terrace, Pittsfield died Monday November 23, 2015 at Laurel Lake Center. She was born in Pittsfield on March 18, 1928 a daughter of Samuel and Sadie (Ackley) Scullary. She attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1945 and then attended Berkshire Business College in Pittsfield. She was employed in the advertising dept. of the Berkshire Eagle for several years and for a short time in the Naval Ordnance Division of General Electric Co. in the payroll dept.; she was last employed at the former House of Carpets as Vice President, retiring in 1988. She was a former communicant of St. Mary the Morning Star Parish in Pittsfield and was a former member of the Sons of Italy ITAM Lodge #564 and the Women's Club of Pittsfield. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis F. Minafra who died on April 7, 2005 and they were married on May 5, 1951. Survivors include her brother, S. Rocco Scullary and his wife, Marie of Pittsfield; one grandson, Timothy M. Bradford of Denver, CO; two great-grandchildren, Celeste and Summer Bradford and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Donna M. Rossi who died on February 7, 2002 of Leukemia; her brother, Judge James J. Scullary and her sister, Concetta M. Sheppard.
