Robert R. Pratt "Dick" 1916-2011 Robert R. "Dick" Pratt, 95, passed away at his home on Beartown Mountain Road in South Lee on Tuesday, December 27th. He was born in Stockbridge on October 25, 1916, the son of Robert H. and Myrtle A. O'Donnell Pratt. He moved to Lee as a child and was educated in Lee schools. During World War II he worked for GE in Pittsfield from 1942-1948. From 1951-1957 he worked for the Peter J. Schweitzer Paper Company. Robert then moved on to become a truck driver, working for B&P Transportation Co. in Lee and then later for Old Colony in Lee, retiring in 1974. He was a proud member of the Brotherhood of Teamsters and one of the founding members of BCARC. His wife, the former Catharine D. Whitman whom he married on June 29, 1952, died on January 5, 2001. He was also predeceased by his first wife, the former Ruth Jennings. He is survived by: Three sons; Richard F. Pratt of Orlando, Fla., Robert F. Pratt of Mo. and Richard Belcher of Pa. Seven daughters; Ruth Heath of Lee, Marion Smith of Boston, Mass., Dorothy Heath of Housatonic, Mass., Patricia Nguyen of Lee, Judy Galley of Pa., Alice Viets of Conn., Anne Belcher of Pittsfield. His Companion of the last nine years, Helen Twing of Tyringham. 37 Grandchildren and many Great and Great, Great Grandchildren. He is predeceased by Three sons, Howard Pratt, David and Charles Belcher and a daughter Patricia Heath. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral service for Dick Pratt will be held on Friday, December 30th at 11 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral home in Lee with the Rev. Richard Hayes, Chaplin of Hospice, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
