1943 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Ronald "Papa Ron" Stanley Drysgola, 71, of 66 Orlando Avenue died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Born in Adams on September 8, 1943, the son of Stanley and Loretta Pelletier Drysgola, he attended Notre Dame School in Adams and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in North Adams. Mr. Drysgola was first employed by Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams where he worked 10 years and then for General Electric Company for 25 years. He then went to work for Lanesboro Pizza for 24 years. Mr. Drysgola was a communicant of St. Charles Church where he served as an usher. He was a New York Yankees and Giants fan, enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing croquet. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brought him greatest pleasure. Mr. Drysgola leaves his wife, the former Joan V. Thibodeau, whom he married September 7, 1964, in Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield. He is also survived by a son, Eric T. Drysgola and his wife, Gitane, of Adams; three daughters, Lynn T. Crennan and her husband, Timothy, of Pittsfield, Laurie A. Wall and her husband, Thomas, of Wareham, Mass., Lisa M. Byers and her husband, Jon, of Brownsburg, Ind.; a brother, Bernard C. Drysgola and his wife, Priscilla, of Pittsfield as well as his nine grandchildren; Nicholas, Hollie, Heather, Cheyenne, Garrett, Andrew, Meghan, Olivia, and Victoria; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Ronald S. Drysgola will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m., at St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Calling hours will be Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m, at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the or to the in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
