Rosalia M. "Lia" Bologna

1954 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Rosalia M. "Lia" Bologna, 61, of 2 Pembroke Ave., passed away Monday morning at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, March 16, 1954, the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Dietrich Bologna she attended the local schools and was a 1972 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Continuing her education she graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park in 1976. For the last 35 years she was employed as a Dietary Technician at Berkshire Medical Center and the former Hillcrest Hospital retiring in 2013. Previously she was Pastry Chef at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge and also was employed at the former Grist Mill Restaurant in Kennebunkport, ME. A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, she enjoyed scrap booking, photography, and stock car racing. She is survived by her brother, Louis Bologna of Pittsfield, her niece, Christine Parker of Peru, and her two nephews, Michael and Louis Bologna both of Pittsfield. She also leaves her special friends, Gary Rossin and Craig Rosso both of Pittsfield, Karen Gillis, and her loyal companion, Nick. The family would like to thank The Porchlight VNA, Elder Services, and the University of Mass. Medical Special Transplant Clinic for their devoted care of "Lia". FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian for Rosalia M. "Lia" Bologna who died June 22, 2015, will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. Peter Naranjo, Parochial Vicar. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to University of Mass.
