Rosalie L. MacWhinnie
1956-2014 LENOX Rosalie L. MacWhinnie, 75, of Lenox, died Sunday evening at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in North Adams on October 29, 1938, the daughter of Theodore L. and Blanche Utter Burzimati, she attended local schools and was a 1956 graduate of Pittsfield High School. A loving mother and wife, she was a homemaker who took great pride in her home and gardens. She had a love of birds and butterflies which she shared with her daughters and granddaughters. She took pleasure in taking Sunday drives and cherished time spent with her great granddaughters. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lenox and volunteered for Berkshires Bounty. She and her husband celebrated 52 years of marriage. Besides her husband, Richard A. MacWhinnie, of Lenox, she is survived by her two daughters; Debra Coyle and son-in-law Michael of Pittsfield, and Robin Tiernan and son-in-law Carl of Lenox; grandchildren Carl R. Tiernan and Molly and Erin Coyle; and great granddaughters Parker and Tobi. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn Ann, who died September 27, 1962 and her brother, Theodore L. "Sonny" Burzimati, Jr. FUNERAL NOTICE: A service of remembrance for Rosalie L. MacWhinnie will be Thursday, February 6, at 7 p.m. at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. David F. Hurst, Pastor of Grace Union Church of Wilbraham, officiating. Calling hours will precede the service from 4 to 6:45 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
