1917 - 2015 WEST STOCKBRIDGE Rose Joan Balestro, 98, died peacefully on November 21, 2015 atFairview Commons Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in the family home in West Stockbridge on September 5, 1917, the youngest of nine children of Antonio and Antonia Veronesi Consolini. Rose attended local schools and graduated from the former Williams High School. She was a communicant of St Patrick's Church of West Stockbridge and was a member of the Rosary Altar Sodality.Rose enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing cards. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Balestro, who died in February 1997. Rose leaves a son, Anthony and his wife, Suzanne of Great Barrington, two grandchildren, Todd Balestro of Rumson, NJ and Lauren Salata of Seattle, WA and five great-grandchildren, Jack, Teddy, and Kate Balestro and Sophia and William Salata. Along with her husband Joseph, she was also predeceased by four brothers, Julian, Joseph, Anthony and Chester Consolini and four sisters, Mary Burns, Lena Sartori, Elizabeth Vanotti and Corinne Smith. FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral Mass will be held at St Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge on Monday, November 29th at10a.m., conducted by the Monsignor John Bonzagni. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations in Rose's name may be made to St Patrick's Memorial Fund or the West Stockbridge Public Library c/o FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
