Richmond - Mrs. Rose M. Skowronski 91, of 226 Old Post Road, Richmond, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at her home.
She had resided at 92 Lyman St. in Pittsfield for many years before moving to Richmond. She was born in Pittsfield, on October 8, 1920 a daughter of the late Antonio and Gisella (Rachetta) Russo. She attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1939.
She was employed by the General Electric Company as a winder for a short time and for 50 years was a secretary an served in.-,other capacities at the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Rectory. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and its Ladies Guild, and she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Edward Skowronski and they were married on September 12, 1942., One Son, Walter Skowronski and his wife Judy of Kirkland, Washington and Scottsdale, Arizona., One Daughter, Lois Anderson and her husband Thomas of Richmond, Mass., One Sister, Antoinette Book and her husband Francis of Pittsfield,. Mass., Five Grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Stephanie Anderson, Keith Skowronski, Natalie Geary, Four Great Grandchildren, Cassandra, Grant, Quinn, Marcus and also several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
Rose was predeceased by a son, grandson, Four brothers, One sister, Mark Skowronski, Eric Skowronski, George Ross, Samuel Ross, Gregory Russo, Rev. Carmen Russo C.S.S.. Concetta Ross.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Rose M. Skowronski will take place Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME 5 Elm St, Pittsfield, MA. 01201. A Liturgy, of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, May 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. Members of the former Mt. Carmel Church Ladies Guild will meet at funeral home at 5 p.m. for a prayer service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice Services of Western Mass. in care of the funeral home.
