Rosemary Cookson

1944-2012 PITTSFIELD Rosemary Cookson, 68, of Adam St., passed away Sunday, November 11, following a short illness.

Born April 13, 1944 in Acushnet, Mass., the daughter of Judge Ernest T. and Mary T. Carney Horrocks, she was a 1963 graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy on Fairhaven, Mass. Rosemary worked at a nursing home in Fairhaven, Mass.; she was employed in Pittsfield by Molari Inc. as a respite companion, and worked as a page at the Berkshire Athenaeum. Rosemary enjoyed talking with people and had the ability to engage anyone she met in a conversation. She took pride with being home and raising her family; she had a soft heart and enjoyed helping people.

Rosemary leaves her husband Jerry Cookson whom she married February 11, 1966, two sons Michael Cookson and David Cookson of Baltimore, Md., four sisters Ellen Horrocks, Nancy Chrzanowski, Patricia Apperson and Betsy DiVeslia and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Rosemary Cookson will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Grace Church Congregational 1055 Williams Street in Pittsfield with Rev. Tom Bridgeman and Rev. William Havens officiating. Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held the day of the service at the church starting at 11 a.m. until the start of the service at 1 p.m.

A reception will follow in the church hall. Donations in her memory may be made to MANNA International through the Grace Congregational Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, who is in charge of arrangements.
