1932 - 2015 WILLIAMSTOWN Mrs. Ruth Theresa (Boyer) Brewer, 82, of Luce Road, died on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at Berkshire Medical center in Pittsfield. She was born in North Adams on Nov. 5, 1932, a daughter to the late Ernest Nelson and Mildred Elizabeth (Dudley) Boyer. She attended schools in North Adams, including Notre Dame Parochial School and graduating from Drury High School with the Class of 1951. Mrs. Brewer was first employed by Sprague Electric in the payroll and accounting department then for 36 and a half years as a Library Assistant with the Williamstown Public School System. She was a member of the MA Teacher's Association and the National Teacher's Association. She was a communicant of Sts Patrick and Raphael Church in Williamstown. In her early years she enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, bowling and square dancing. She also cherished dining out, spending time with her friends, cousins, and sister-in-law, Pat Brewer. She was happiest when spending time with her sons and their wives and her seven grandchildren who were very special to her. She especially enjoyed taking family trips and attending her grandchildren's special events, which made her so proud to be a part of. Mrs. Brewer was the widow of Joseph Lee Brewer. They were married in the Notre Dame Church on Feb. 9, 1952. Mr. Brewer died Dec. 5, 1991. Survivors include her two sons, Steven L. Brewer and his wife, Suzanne of Saranac Lake, NY and Kevin J. Brewer and his wife, June, of Rowley, MA. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Heather Brewer and her husband, Matthew Glaude, Jason Brewer and his fiance, Samantha, Kaitlyn Brewer, Amanda Brewer, Danielle Brewer, John Brewer and Michael Brewer as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Patricia Brewer and Dorothy Brewer. She was predeceased by a brother, Nelson Ernest Boyer who died in infancy. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Ruth Brewer will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at the Sts Patrick and Raphael Church at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes- WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
