Dee Dee Brownson

1945 - 2013 GREAT BARRINGTON Dee Dee Brownson, 67, of West Stockbridge Road in Stockbridge passed away Feb. 3, 2013. at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

A native and lifelong resident of Great Barrington, she was born April 24, 1945, the daughter of Leamon and Sarah Taggart Roger. She was a 1963 graduate of the former Searles High School.

Dee Dee worked as a librarian at the Mason Library.

She was a loving mother who supported all of her children and could always be found at their various sporting events.

She grew up loving and riding horses at Roger's Stock Farm which her parents owned and was a member of The Rough Riders. She enjoyed the many years of participating in parades with her family as The Roger's Family Circus and the numerous hours of giving pony rides for local events. She was a member of Eastern Star and a Sunday school teacher for many years. Her love of knitting was inherited from her mother.

Dee Dee is survived by her two sons, Robert W. Brownson, and his companion, Barbara Zanetti of Sheffield, and Roger C. Brownson of Great Barrington; her daughter, Katina Sebben and her husband, Joe, of Canann, Conn.; her grandchildren, Sabrina and Tyler Sebben, Miles Brownson and Connor, Dylan and Sadie Brownson, and her great-grandson, Mekhi Brownson. She also leaves her two sisters, June Williamson and her husband, Charles, and Susan McKay and her husband, James, all of Great Barrington, four nieces, several great-nieces and nephews and her aunt and uncle Alice and George Brown.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Brownson, in 2002. The couple was married on Feb. 12, 1966, at the First Congregational Church.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington, conducted by the Rev. Charles Van Ausdall. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
