Samuel Delmolino 1929 - 2012 ADAMS Samuel Delmolino, 82, of 71 Melrose St. Adams, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at North Adams Commons. He was born in Adams on March 4, 1929, son of Simone and Clementina (Delmolino) Delmolino. He attended schools in Cheshire and Adams and graduated from the Adams High School. He also graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Mass. Sam was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Navy. He was last employed with his son, Lyle, at the American Vision Center at the Berkshire Mall. Before that, he worked at Steinerfilm in Williamstown and worked as a police officer for the town of Adams for 20 years. After his retirement, he worked at General Dynamics in Pittsfield and was a volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital. In his younger years, he worked in golf course construction. Sam enjoyed speaking Italian, cooking Italian food, gardening and trips to Italy. Sam especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid New England Patriots fan. His wife was the former Dawn Enright who died on Sept. 18, 2004. They were married on May 26, 1962. Survivors include one son, Lyle D. Delmolino, and his wife, Laura, of Adams; two step-daughters, Judith Storr of Utah and Deborah Trudeau of Albany, NY; seven grandchildren, Samuel Delmolino, Joseph Delmolino, Colin Ayotte, Chandler Ayotte, Corinne Hale, Coressa Addair, and Ashley Sherman; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Czarnick and Elsie Asdikian and her husband, Walter, all of Adams. Sam also leaves nieces and nephews and his close friends and neighbors, Bill and Bev Wood. Sam's family would like to thank the staff of North Adams Commons and North Adams Regional Hospital for their loving care in Sam's final days. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Sam Delmolino will be Wednesday January 25, 2012 from 4-7 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to North Adams Regional Hospital in care of the funeral home.
