Sandra Louise Gromacki 1940-2012 DALTON Sandra Louise Gromacki, 71, of 30 East Deming Street, Dalton, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at her home. Born in Pittsfield on March 30, 1940, a daughter of the late Henry C. Sultaire, Sr., and Evelyn Teal Sultaire, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1957 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Gromacki had been a secretary at the former McKenzie Plastics in Pittsfield. She had, at one time, also worked at Sears and at Liquors, Inc. She was a member of the Dalton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 155. She enjoyed bowling, golf, doing crossword puzzles, gardening, and going to Cape Cod. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and friends. Mrs. Gromacki leaves her husband, Robert "Bob" Gromacki, whom she married May 10, 1980, in Dalton. Her former husband, William P. Cowie, died January 5, 1980. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gromacki leaves a son, William H. Cowie of Dalton; two daughters, Cheryl A. Morton and her husband, Ralph "Chip" Morton of Southampton and Deborah J. Cook of Riverview, Florida; a brother, Henry C. Sultaire, Jr. and his wife, Bridget, of Pittsfield; three sisters, Diane Eberhart of Phoenix, Arizona, Charlene Roberts, also of Phoenix, and Donna Gero of Tulsa, Oklahoma; as well as eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a stepson, Stephen Gromacki of Pittsfield; four stepdaughters, Sheryl Gromacki of Pittsfield, Sally Robezzi and her husband, James of South Windsor, Connecticut; Susan Whitcomb and her husband, David, of Pittsfield, and Shelly Wacaster and her husband, Allan, of Boynton Beach, Florida. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Sandra Louise Gromacki will be held Monday, March 12, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Agnes Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Dery-Foley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Gromacki may be made to the in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
