Sandra L. Konieczny

1943 - 2015 ADAMS Mrs. Sandra L. (Stewart) Konieczny, 71, of 17 Cross St., died late Monday evening, August 3, 2015, at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Pittsfield on August 17, 1943, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Pearl (Chamberlain) Stewart. She came to Adams at age 5 with her family, and graduated from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1962. She also attended the former North Adams State College. Sandy worked as the secretary for the First Congregational Church of Adams for 20 years. She then worked as a private housekeeper for several years until retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adams, where she was a member of its Women's Fellowship. An amateur artist, she enjoyed painting, as well as reading, sewing, arts and crafts; she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles P. Konieczny, whom she married on July 6, 1963; three daughters, Tammy Winters and her husband, Sam, of Hancock; Wendy Lamberton and her husband, Bryan, of Adams; and Tracy Swicker and her husband, Keith, of Cheshire; a brother, Robert Stewart and his wife, Gail, of Severn, MD; a sister, Priscilla Shepherd and her husband, Wayne, of New Ashford; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grandnephews. SERVICES: A memorial service celebrating Sandy's life will be held on Saturday, August 8th, 2015 at 10 in the First Baptist Church, 15 Commercial St. (Rt. 8) Adams. Rev. Donald E. Gray will officiate. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 15 Commercial St. Adams, MA 01220; or to the Williamstown Commons Resident Activities Fund, 25 Adams Road, Williamstown, MA 01267.
