Serafina Rose (Vicari) Tomasini

1916 - 2014 ADAMS Mrs. Serafina Rose (Vicari) Tomasini, of 17 Pleasant St. died Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield. She was born in the Farnams section of Cheshire on Sept. 15, 1916, daughter of Paolo and Olimpia (Andreatta) Vicari. She attended schools in North Adams including the Drury High School. Sarah was last employed by the General Cable Co. until her retirement. Before that, she worked at Sprague Electric Co., ALADCO, and JJ Newberry's. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and enjoyed making crafts for its annual bazaar. She also enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the Barrett House. Sarah was a member of the Adams Senior Citizens and a former member of the Italian Catholic Girls Club. She was the widow of John O. Tomasini who died on Aug. 14, 1956. They were married on June 27, 1938. Survivors include her son James P. Tomasini and his wife, Julie, of Brewster; four grandchildren, including Dawn McAllister and her fiancee, Joe DaSilva, and Alex of Adams; Jennifer Boucher and her husband, Jason, of Cheshire; Scott Tomasini and his wife, Patricia, of Land o Lakes, Fla.; and Eric Tomasini and his wife, Paula, of Melrose; six great-grandchildren, including Lorenzo, Carlo, Nina, Morgan, Noah, and Alexus; and two great-great-grandchildren, including Camdyn and Carolyne; her daughter-in-law, Alice Tomasini of North Adams; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Her son, John O. Tomasini, died Dec. 21, 2010; and two sisters and one brother are deceased including, Dalia Zappula, Lena Codogni, and Alfred Vicari. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Saturday Dec. 13, at 9:30 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, Mass. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4 - 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the in care of the funeral home.
