Sharon L. Winn
PITTSFIELD - Sharon L. Winn, 63, of 225 Cheshire Rd. Pittsfield, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.
Born on March 9, 1949, in Pittsfield, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Ruth Arthur Baumann. A longtime Pittsfield resident, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School. At the time of her death she was employed at Home Goods in Pittsfield as a unit coordinator, where she had worked for the past 11 years. She had also worked at one time at the former Bradlee's Dept. Store. She enjoyed baking and following Celtics basketball who she affectionately called "her boys." She also enjoyed being a part of family celebrations and traditions, and she loved traveling, including her yearly trips to Cape Cod and Florida. Her greatest joy however, was her grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events. Her family was her everything.
She leaves her husband, James D. Winn, whom she married on May 6, 1967, at St. Agnes Church in Dalton; two daughters, Carol A. Carnevale and her husband, Bruce, of Pittsfield and Stacie M. Sherman and her husband, Bryon, of Pittsfield; two brothers, Bill Baumann and his wife Tina and Ralph Baumann and his wife Kim, both of Pittsfield; two sisters, Sally Wilcox and her husband George of Pittsfield and Alice Fiske and her husband Jim of Titusville, FL. She also leaves her seven adored grandchildren, Justin and Jessica Winn, Emylee Carnevale, Alex Wesolowski, and Colby, Sydnie and Sam Sherman.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael J. Winn, who died April 1, 2003, and by a brother, Buddy Baumann.
She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Sharon L. Winn, 63, of Pittsfield who died May 4, 2012 will be held Friday at 12 noon at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, conducted by Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church. Following cremation, burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the Dery Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sharon's name may be made to the in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201
