2010 - 2016 PITTSFIELD Shavez Marcus Forte, age 6, died Monday, January 25, 2016. Born in Pittsfield on January 2, 2010, he was the son of Joallen Forte. Shavez. He had attended The Tot Spot and had been a student at Crosby Elementary School. Shavez attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Great Barrington. As young as Shavez was, he brought glory to God playing the drums, singing in the choir, and serving as an usher. He enjoyed playing soccer, basketball and swimming. Shavez passed his level of energy from heart to heart. Shavez loved fire trucks and police cars. On November 18, 2015, the Pittsfield Police Department named him an honorary member. Shavez leaves his mother, Joallen Forte of Pittsfield; two sisters, Jaziyah Forte and Mia-amore, both of Pittsfield; a brother, Jadea of Pittsfield; his grandmother, Vera Forte of Housatonic; six aunts and four uncles, Vanessa LeGrande of Housatonic, Jacqueline (Minister Paul Sr.) Banks of Troy, NY, uncle, Joseph (Mildred) Forte Jr., of Albany, NY, Prudence (Riccardo) Forte-Bray of Las Vegas, NV, aunt, Reverend Sheila Harrington, aunt, Reverend Sandra (Reverend Roland) Forbes of Lancaster, PA, his Godparents and Pastor, Reverend Mattie Conway. Shavez also leaves to cherish his memories; a host of cousins, relatives and friends. Shavez was predeceased by his grandfather, the Reverend Joseph S. Forte Sr., and his aunt, Cynthia Alston-Harris. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Shavez Marcus Forte will be held Monday, February 1st, 2016 at 11a.m., at South Congregational Church, 110 South Street, Pittsfield, with the Reverend Sheila Harrington and Rev. Mattie Conway officiating. Burial will police department honors will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4 to 7p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Memorial donations in memory of Shavez may be made to Super Landen's Journey a fund established to support Pittsfield Police Officer Jim Losaw's son, Landen, who is suffering from brain cancer or to the Jaziyah Forte Educational Fund both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
