NISKAYUNA, NY Shirley Londergan Marden, 80, of Daisy Lane died Monday, July 6, 2015. Shirley was born in Pittsfield to the late Thomas and Beatrice Andrews Londergan. Shirley graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1953. She worked at the General Electric Company in Pittsfield before she was married. She retired from the Schenectady City School District as a teachers' aide. Shirley was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady and a past president of the Parish Council, former Eucharistic Minister, member of the Rosary Society, Human Concerns and Pastoral Care Committees and a member of the Niskayuna Seniors. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, Overlook Cottage, pets, traveling, reading, playing Pitch, the Red Sox, visiting casinos, gardening, cooking, bocce, water aerobics and picking blueberries. Shirley was predeceased by two siblings, Marilyn Barton and Thomas Londergan. She is survived by four children; Elaine (Jonathan) Kemp of Charlton, David (Tara Schultz) Marden of Corpus Christi, TX, Sheila Marden of Scotia and Karen (Joseph) Alcombright of Bracey, VA, two siblings; Dorothy (Joseph) Amuso of Pittsfield and Richard (Carla) Londergan of Canyon Country, CA, three grandchildren; Jon Kemp of Scottsdale, AZ, Destiny Jo Marden of Texas City, TX and Katherine M. Kemp of Charlton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Friday morning at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in the North Becket Cemetery, Becket, MA. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union St., Schenectady.
