Stanley J. Panus

1921-2016 Mr. Stanley J. Panus, 95, formerly of Taylor St., passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility. Born in Greenfield, MA on January 9, 1921 the son of Peter and Dominika Rudniska Panus, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1938 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Panus received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He later received his Master's Degree as well as completing many certificate courses. He was a Veteran of WWII. Mr. Panus was a Lieutenant JG in the US Navy serving as an aviator on the USS Guam. Stanley worked for General Electric in Pittsfield as an Electrical Engineer in the Ordnance division. He retired in 1982 after 33 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a former communicant of Holy Family Church. Mr. Panus is survived by six nephews, Gerard Krupka and his wife Ellen Chapman, Michael Krupka and his wife Colleen, Richard Lysonski, Joseph Lysonski and his wife Lourdes, Steven Lysonski and his wife Cindy and Paul Lysan and his wife Leslie; a niece, Kathy Kenny and Stanley's dear friends, Dick and Susan Ricci of Easthampton. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mr. Stanley J. Panus will be Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10a.m. at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, February 29, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to , care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in his memory.
