Stephen LaValley, Sr.

1951 - 2012 WILLIAMSTOWN Stephen M. LaValley, Sr., 61, of 26 Hall St., Williamstown, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the North Adams Regional Hospital.

He was born in North Adams on Aug. 16, 1951, son of Leo and Martha (Belouin) LaValley. He attended schools in North Adams and also attended Southern Vermont College. He was employed for many years as the head chef at the Captain's Table in Williamstown. He also was employed as a state judge at the Green Mountain Race Track in Pownal, Vt., and at James Hunter Company in North Adams. He was last employed as a coach bus driver for J.T. Bus Lines. Stephen will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his father and mother, Leo and Martha LaValley of North Adams, and his wife, Nancy (Donovan) LaValley, whom he married June 21, 1949; two daughters, Laura Morris and her husband Jeff of Southwick, Mass., and Martha Tanner and her husband Dan of North Adams; two sons, Stephen LaValley, Jr., and his wife Sherry of Derry, N.H., and Daniel LaValley and his wife Abby of Southampton, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Donovan, Spencer, Conner, Andrew, Morgan, Jack and Madelyn; two sisters, Kimberly LaValley and Mary Beth LaValley, both of North Adams; six brothers, Lawrence LaValley of Arizona, David LaValley, Peter LaValley, Michael LaValley, Richard LaValley and Shaun LaValley, all of North Adams; several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Patrick and Raphael Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling Hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA are Monday from 9-10:30 a.m.
