Steven G. Cormier

1962-2012 Steven G. Cormier, 50, of Orchard Street, passed away Wednesday, November 7 suddenly at his home.

Born February 11, 1962 in Pittsfield the son of Ralph J. and Phyllis H. Galusha Cormier, he was raised in Hinsdale and 1980 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.Steven worked at the former England Brothers Department Store until its closure; he was employed for 25 years at Berkshire Medical Center in environmental services.

He was a member of the Reining Love Church in Pittsfield.Steven enjoyed talking and discussing local and national politics, he was an honorary citizen of Boys Town. Steven loved dogs and was an avid collector and watcher of movies.

He leaves his sister Brenda Cormier and her companion Roger Carmel of Hinsdale, brothers Ralph Cormier and his wife Kathy of Hinsdale and Dennis Cormier of Sandisfield; as well as his niece Aviva Cormier of Boston, Mass., niece Jessica Cormier and her fiancee Joe of Worcester, Mass., nephew Ralph Cormier Jr. and niece Shelby Cormier both of Hinsdale, and a great nephew Chase Cossin of Worcester, Mass. Steven was predeceased by his parents and sister in law Linda.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held Friday, November 16 at 1 p.m. at BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in the Maple Street Cemetery in Hinsdale. Donations in his memory may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
