Sue-Madeline A. Field 1938-2012 CHESHIRE Sue-Madeline A. Field, 73, of 612 West Mountain Road, Cheshire, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Muskegon, Mich., on October 15, 1938, the daughter of Elmer A. and Bernice A. Falconer Storm, she was educated in Oregon, and was a 1954 high school graduate. She later went on to graduate from MCLA in Los Angeles, Calif., with a degree in business. Mrs. Field was a longtime secretary. From 1958 to 1964, she was secretary to the General, United States Army, European Command, serving in the United States, and throughout Europe including Germany. From 1968 until 1972, she was secretary to the Arlington Court Judge in Arlington, Vt. During that time, she also owned the Battenkill Restaurant in Arlington. Most recently, she was the Public Relations Liaison for Wal-Mart in Pittsfield from where she retired in 2010 with 13 years service. Mrs. Field served as a Town Father in Cheshire. She was a member of the Cheshire Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star. She had been a Boy and Girl Scout leader, a 4-H Leader, and had taught horseback riding at Fort Devens. She enjoyed children and her sheep dogs, as well as sewing, crafts, farming, and cooking. Mrs. Field was an organ donor. She leaves her husband, Rodger P. Field, whom she married December 31, 1972, in the Cheshire Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Karmen Field-Mitchell of Cheshire; a son, Keith Field of Ohio; a brother, Hap Storm of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren, Angela B. Bray, James J. Mitchcll, Christopher Keach, Ashley Keach, and Keith Field, Jr., and four great grandchildren, Evie Bray, Darren Mitchell, Owen Bray, and Rylee Mitchell, and a goddaughter, Wendy Martin. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Naomi-Sue Keach who died in 1994, a son, John E. Field who died in 2010, and two brothers, Jerry Storm who died in 2009 and Butch Storm who died in 1978. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Memorial service for Sue-Madeline A. Field will be held Friday, March 30, at 11 a.m, at Cheshire Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Roy C. Burdick, pastor of Florida Baptist Church. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Field may be made to the Cheshire Police Department, the Cheshire Fire Department, or to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, all in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire.
