1946 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Susan L. Gero, 68, of BerkshireTown Apartments, formerly of Adelaide Avenue, died Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on November 2, 1946, the daughter of Willard H. Taylor and Theresa T. Nicola Bassett Taylor of Pittsfield, she was a 1964 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Gero was first employed as a Production Worker at A.H. Rice Silk Mill. Following her retirement from there, she was employed as a Deli Clerk at Big Y Foods. Mrs. Gero was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts and ceramics, cooking and baking, and was an avid Red Sox fan. Spending time with her family brought her greatest joy. Her husband, Francis Bernard Gero, whom she married April 27, 1968, died February 21, 1988. Mrs. Gero is survived by two sisters, Janet D'Agostino and her husband, Frank, of Pittsfield, and Ann Marie Reagan and her husband, William, of Pittsfield; three brothers, Bernard A. Bassett and his wife, Beverly, of the state of Florida, Robert H. Taylor of Pittsfield, and Patrick J. Taylor and his wife, Mary, of the state of Florida. She was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, Holly Pignatelli of Pittsfield, Stacy Nash of Lanesboro, Dominic D'Agostino of Pittsfield, Marcie Gaul of Lee, Betsy D'Agostino of Pittsfield, Frank D'Agostino of Pittsfield, and Michael D'Agostino of Pittsfield. She leaves many other nieces and nephews, as well as 22 great-nieces and nephews and five great-great-nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Susan L. Gero will be held Tuesday, September 15, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11a.m., at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter M. Naranjo, II., Parochial Vicar. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
