NORTH ADAMS Suzanne C. Cook, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Port Washington, N.Y. to the late Fred F. Clark and Margaret R. Amell. "Sue" graduated from Plattsburgh University and Albany Medical Hospital, where she received her RN. For 22 years, she lived in Bennington, Vt. and worked at The Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, specializing as a maternity nurse. She received great joy teaching the young parents how to care for their newborns. During her career in nursing, she received several awards; she had special training in prenatal care and was board certified in high risk pregnancies. Nursing was her second love after her family. Sue was a very loving and giving person, very talented in writing poetry, singing, loved gardening, and she was a huge history buff. She was very active with the Vietnam Veterans of America, instrumental in helping establish the local Veterans Clinic in Bennington. As a member of the color guard, she marched in several Veterans Day parades and proudly carried the POW flag in uniform. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her immediate family including her brother, Donald Clark of Birch Bay, Wash.; her companion, William Bradley of North Adams; children; Linda Bell of Berlin, Vt.; Margaret Davis of Savannah, Ga.; Joanne Brooks of Adams; John G. Bell III of Weld, Maine; the late Maryanne McKnight of Waco, Texas and James F. Bell of Savannah, Ga. and their father, Dr. John G. Bell of Doylestown, Pa.
