Sydney G. (Reid) Baribeau

1936 - 2015 CHESHIRE Mrs. Sydney G. (Reid) Baribeau, 78, of 630 Savoy Rd., died early Thursday morning, May 14, at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Adams on Dec. 11, 1936, daughter of the late Albert and Anita (Chal-mers) Reid. She attended Adams schools, and graduated from the former Adams High School. Mrs. Baribeau was primarily a homemaker, caring for her family, most of her life. She was an active communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered on many committees, and was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America. She enjoyed the arts and music, including many visits to the Clark Art Institute and Tanglewood, trips to the Maine coast, and sports, being an avid Yankees fan. Her husband, Robert A. Baribeau, whom she married on Dec. 30, 1994, died on May 12, 2006. She is survived by two daughters, Beth Armstrong and her husband, Peter, of Cheshire, and Lori Butterfield and her husband, Michael Campbell, of Turners Falls; four grandchildren, Ashley Wnuk and her husband, Mark, Christopher Butterfield, Kristine McLear and her companion, Stephanie Vogel, and David Butterfield; two great-grand-children, Madison Lynn McLear ,and Rachael Marion-Rose Wnuk; and her companion, Clement LeClaire, of Cheshire. Sydney's family would like to thank the staff of Wiiliamstown Commons and of Hospice of the Berkshires for the care and comfort they provided to her during her illness. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 20, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. David R. Raymond, Pastor. Burial will follow in Maple Street Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 159 Church St. Cheshire, MA 01225.
