Theresa A. Garzone

1921 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Theresa Ann (Panetti) Garzone, 92, of 306 Highland Ave., died Wednesday Feb. 12, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Patricia Mazzeo. She was born in Pittsfield on May 23, 1921, the daughter of Ignatious and Maria Cencia Panetti. She attended Pittsfield schools and was a homemaker most of her life. She lived with her brother, Angelo, until illness struck, then resided with her daughter, at the end. Theresa enjoyed playing cards and crossword puzzles, but dancing was her love. She was the widow of Louis C. Garzone. Survivors include two sisters, Frances Lucaroni, of Dalton, and Sister Angelina Panetti M.V.P., of the Venerini Sisters of Leominster; two sons, Anthony and his companion, Paula McDermot, and Louis and his wife, Elizabeth Duda Garzone; a daughter, Patricia Garzone Mazzeo and her partner, Dan Barnini; 13 grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter, Mia; many nieces and nephews and a daughter-in-law, Donna McColgan Garzone. She will be sadly missed by all her loved ones. She was predeceased by a son, Angelo "Bud" Garzone; a great-granddaughter, Roxy; three brothers, Carmen, Alexander, and Angelo Panetti, and five sisters, Prudence DiGrigoli, Nicolina Serra, Eva Carroll, Jennie Gilardi, and Viola Rotti. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be private. The funeral will be Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Charles Church with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, in care of the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, Ma. 01201 which is in charge of arrangements.
